Without the correct audio driver, your computer won't be able to properly send audio signals from your PC to your speakers and other output devices. Do we need to setup the audio drivers?


Without installing the audio driver your speakers won't give off any sound. If you're facing any trouble in audio driver settings like crackling music, games missing sound effects or if your Windows computer emits no sound at all, then you'll need to update the audio driver.


How to Update Audio Drivers?


  1. Turn on your desktop device and click on the Windows icon.
  2. You can also press the Windows + X keys simultaneously.
  3. It will open a dialog box and type devmgmt.msc in the dialog box.
  4. Select the device manager from the menu list or you can also watch the videos of opening the device manager.
  5. Locate and expand sound, video and game controllers.
  6. Right-click on the audio driver and then select the updated driver option.
  7. Click on the Browse my computer for driver option.
  8. Select the Let me pick from a list of available drivers.
  9. On the following page, click on the next option.
  10. If it notifies you to reboot the system then restart it again.

How to update audio driver by Windows Update?


  1. Turn on your device and click on the start menu option.
  2. Click on the Settings option or you can also press Windows + I simultaneously.
  3. Select the settings option and then the windows update option.
  4. Click on the Advanced option.
  5. Under Additional options, click Optional updates option.
  6. Click on the driver updates option to expand it.
  7. Select the audio driver you want to update.
  8. Click on the install option.
